Drive for Excellence is a recognition program for CCSD seniors that promotes school attendance and offers an incentive for students to excel academically. Findlay Chevrolet will offer one lucky a senior brand new Chevy Spark and Silver State Schools Credit Union will be giving away a $3,000, $2,000, $1,000 and $500 scholarship based on criteria that has been jointly developed.
Seniors who maintain a 3.7 weighted cumulative G.P.A. through May 2, 2015 with no unexcused absences will be invited to a special event on June 3, 2015 from 1:30‐3:00 P.M. Students must also be enrolled in a CCSD school for their entire senior year to qualify. At the event a new automobile, lap tops, college scholarships and many other prizes will be given away. The event will be held at Wet’n’Wild. Qualifying students will receive free admission and lunch. Students must be present to win.
Levels of Distinction
- High Honors Distinction ‐ Students who earn a cumulative G.P.A. of a 3.866 or higher at the end of the 7th semester
- Honors Distinction – Students who earn a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.50 to 3.65 at the end of the 7th semester
Selective Service Registration
All males must register with the Selective Service within 30 days after turning 18. Registering keeps our young men eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs and even driver’s license renewals in most states. They may fill out a paper registration form at the post office or simply register online at www.sss.gov
